With the latest iOS 26 beta, Apple now allows screen recordings at your device’s full native resolution—for example, the iPhone 16 Pro Max sees a jump from 884×1920 to 1320×2868 pixels—delivering crisp, clear captures. Despite this resolution boost, file sizes remain reasonable—a 12-second clip rises from 18.9 MB to just 24.2 MB—thanks to improved compression.
