Meta Axes Standalone Messenger Apps for Windows and Mac
Meta is discontinuing its dedicated Messenger desktop apps for Mac and Windows, effective December 15. Users will no longer be able to log into the standalone clients and will be redirected to the Facebook website or the web-based Messenger.com for chats. Meta is advising users to enable secure storage for chat history backup.
