Nepal Lifts Social Media Ban: Platforms Like TikTok, Discord See Huge Surge in Use
Following mass protests sparked by a government Ban on major social platforms, Nepal has lifted its social media restrictions. Platforms such as Bitchat, Discord, and TikTok saw a sharp rise in activity once the ban was removed. The ban had targeted over two dozen apps, including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and X, citing non-compliance with registration rules.
