US Sues Uber for Violating Disability Rights, Citing Denied Rides

The U.S. Department of Justice has filed suit against Uber, alleging that the company and its drivers discriminate against people with disabilities. Claims include refusal of service to riders with stowable wheelchairs or service animals, charging cleaning fees for service animals, imposing cancellation fees when rides are denied, and insulting or refusing reasonable requests—like letting mobility-impaired passengers sit in front.
