Closing India's Billion-Dollar Brain Drain

While India climbed to 38th on the Global Innovation Index, its commercialization severely lags. Despite ranking third globally in scientific publications, India generates just $1.2 billion annually from intellectual property exports, compared to America's $130 billion. To close this gap, experts urge a shift toward problem-led IP generation, internal corporate incubator programs, and embedding structured innovation training from schools to universities.
