Telegram Back on Google Play Store After Brief India Ban

Google has reinstated Telegram for Android users in India following a temporary ban ordered by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). The platform-wide restriction was imposed under Section 69A of the IT Act after recommendations from the National Testing Agency, which cited concerns over exam-related scams and paper leaks ahead of the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination. The app is now fully available again for downloads and updates.
