Ex-Google employee Yousuf Imran quit his $986,000-a-year sales job after six years to launch his own AI startup, Mangosteen Studio. Imran cited Google’s recent layoffs and the massive equity boom at rival AI firms like OpenAI as key drivers for his decision. Before leaving, he saved $350,000 to entirely bootstrap and fund his new venture and lifestyle for two years.
