Antitrust Crisis: Google Faces EU Fine Over Search Bias

Google is expected to face a significant fine from EU antitrust regulators next year for failing to comply with rules that prohibit favoring its own services, like Shopping and Flights, in search results. The European Commission charged Google in March with self-preferencing, violating the Digital Markets Act (DMA). Although Google has offered tweaks, sources indicate its proposals fall short, risking a penalty of up to 10% of global annual turnover.
