Spotify Gives Free Users Pick-and-Play Power: Search & Share Songs Without Premium
Spotify is expanding its free tier: now users can pick and play any song, search for specific tracks, or play music shared by friends or artists via social media. Previously, free users were restricted to shuffle mode with limited skips. The changes aim to boost engagement among Spotify’s 433 million ad-supported users. However, features like lossless streaming, AI playlists, and Mix remain exclusive to Premium subscribers.
